Types of NGO registration

There are three types of NGO registrations in India :

  • Society regisration ( Under society registration Act of concerned state/union teritory)
  • Trust registration ( Under the trust Act )
  • Section 8 company  ( Under the companies Act,2013 )


Required documents for NGO registration

Society registration:

  • The name of the society
  • Address proof of the office ( Electricity bill/Property tax recipt/Telephone bill )
  • Aadhar card of All members
  • Passport size photo of all members
  • Memorandum of Association and By-laws of the society
  • Two witness ( Witness should not member of society )


Trust Registration ;

  • The name of the Trust
  • Address proof of the office ( Electricity bill/Property tax recipt/Telephone bill )
  • Aadhar card of All members
  • Passport size photo of all members
  • Objctives of the Trust
  • Two witness ( Witness should not member of society )


Section 8 Company :

  • The name of the Section 8 company
  • Address proof of the office ( Electricity bill/Property tax recipt/Telephone bill )
  • Aadhar card of All members
  • Passport size photo of all members
  • MoA and AoA of the Trust
